"Summons a burrowing creature that travels to blue souls on the battlefield so that you don’t have to retrieve them. (They’ll come to you!) A soul mole will also knock over any units in its way, stunning them temporarily. Once a soul has been retrieved by a mole, it will be blue to everybody! Beware of other wizards stealing the mole’s soul out from under you." – The Manual, The Book Of James

When Soul Mole is cast upon a blue soul, it summons a mole that digs its way through the land towards the soul, destroying the creature that is attached to the soul and then returns to the caster. it knock down and stuns everything on its path. The whole trip will take exactly ten seconds no matter how far the wizard might have gotten while the spell was being cast. This ultimately means that the Mole has the potential to be both the slowest and the fastest phenomena in the game.

The spell is obtained along with Taurock and in campaign is received in James's third mission.

Tactical UsesEdit

Its main purpose is to collect blue souls from wizard's own dead, but it can also be used to speed up the collection of free blue souls in the multyplayer games. It's mana cost is ten times smaller than that of Soul Wind. There is no diference between cooldown and casting time, so it can be cast constantly (there is even a possibility that a wizards will see three of his/her Moles at once).

If an enemy wizard is casting Soul Mole, you can intercept it while it's returning to obtain the soul (after it has destryed the creature's body and the soul became blue to everyone). You will, nevertheless, be stunned.

  • It can be used to interrupt a wizard's spell casting.
  • It can be and should be used to knock down enemy ground creatures to buy some extra attack time for your own creatures, whenever it's possible.
